In 1947, King George VI, Queen Elizabeth, and Princesses Elizabeth and Margaret undertook an extensive six-month, 10,000-mile Royal Tour of South Africa, Southern Rhodesia, and surrounding territories.

The Wreck of the Grosvenor 1783

The Wreck of the Grosvenor, an East Indiaman, occurred on 4 August 1782 on the Pondoland coast of South Africa, north of the Umzimvubu River. The Grosvenor was a three-masted ship of 729 tons on her return voyage to England when she was wrecked, carrying a crew of 132 and 18 passengers (12 adults and 6 children), and a cargo valued at £75,000.

A Miniature Map of Southern Africa by Petrus Bertius c.1618

Petrus Bertius (1565-1629) was connected by marriage to Jodocus Hondius and Pieter van den Keere, his brothers-in-law and both cartographers, and this would influence his later life.

In 1618, Bertius became a cosmographer and historiographer for Louis XIII of France.

The International Conference in Support of the Struggle of the Namibian People for Independence was held at UNESCO House in Paris from 25 to 29 April 1983. Organized by the United Nations, it was a pivotal diplomatic event aimed at accelerating Namibia's transition to independence from South African occupation.

The film is a documentary focusing on the 1970 World Cup and includes footage of Muhammad Ali's boxing match against Joe Bugner.

In the tournament final, Brazil won 4–1 against Italy. Pele was known as “The King” of football.
