HMS Renown (1916-48). was one of two Renown-class battlecruisers built for the Royal Navy during the First World War. Between Dec 1942 and Feb 1945 HMS Renown was docked in Durban harbour for a refit and an upgrade. In the background of this painting, one can see The Bluff. In the foreground is what is today known as J-Jetty.
