Boys was a prominent figure in South African abstract art, celebrated for his fluid, organic compositions, mastery of texture, and space-age or biomorphic forms.

Number 157/250 limited-edition original print (likely an airbrush).

The piece showcases his signature use of soft, airbrushed tonal gradations. He beautifully contrasts velvet blacks, granular stippled greys, and stark, uninked white space to create a striking sense of three-dimensional depth.

Note the upper margins, there are raised, undulating lines pressed into the paper. Boys frequently used blind embossing (printing without ink to create a raised texture) to add a tactile, sculptural dimension to his works on paper.
