Newspaper screenprint on paper. Umsebenzi, (1985-1993), was the quarterly mass paper of the underground Communist Party of South Africa. With some exceptions, the paper ran up until 1993.
The South African newspaper "Umsebenzi" (meaning "The Worker" in Zulu and Xhosa) was associated with the South African Communist Party and faced bans and censorship due to its political content. Specifically, it was targeted under the Riotous Assemblies Act of 1930 and the Suppression of Communism Act of 1950.
