Sir David William Bone CBE (22 June 1874 – 17 May 1959) was a Scottish Commodore and author of nautical fiction. Bone received the Coronation Medal from King George VI in 1937 for his long association with the Merchant Navy. He was appointed a CBE in 1943 and awarded a knighthood in 1946.

Sir Muirhead Bone (23 March 1876 – 21 October 1953) was a Scottish etcher and watercolourist who became known for his depiction of industrial and architectural subjects and his work as a war artist in both the First and Second World Wars.
