On the title page for The Good-Natured Man, the frontispiece/facing illustration (visible on the left tissue guard/page) shows a single male character standing—which actually illustrates the opening scene of The Good-Natured Man. However, the central title vignette printed on that page depicts the exact three-person scene from She Stoops to Conquer (Kate Hardcastle, Constance Neville, and Young Marlow). The printer at The Knickerbocker Press accidentally reused the vignette block from She Stoops to Conquer on both title pages instead of printing the correct matching vignette for The Good-Natured Man.

These matching two volumes of Oliver Goldsmith’s celebrated comedies feature gilt-stamped turn-ins signed by G.P. Putnam's Sons, fine three-quarter morocco leather spines over marbled boards, and color plates illustrated by Canadian artist Frederick Simpson Coburn around 1899–1900.
