The Life of a South African Tribe (2 vols) Second Edition (1927)

A seminal two-volume ethnographic work by the Swiss missionary and anthropologist Henri-Alexandre Junod, first published in 1912. The Second Edition (1927), published by Macmillan in London, is considered the "best edition" because it was significantly revised and enlarged to include a pioneering functional analysis of the culture.

Key Details of the 1927 Edition: An exhaustive study of the Tsonga people (then referred to as the Thonga) of the Transvaal and Mozambique.
