Alfred Saint Hill Gibbons (1859 – France , 1916 ) was a British explorer .
From 1895 to 1896 he sailed thousands of kilometres up the Zambezi , before reaching Egypt on a second journey (1900) starting from the Congo .
He also wrote some entries for the Encyclopædia Britannica , 1911 edition. He died in the First World War .
