R.W. [Graham's Town]

9 March 1865

My dear Sir (Henry Francis Fynn jnr.)

I shall be glad if you will come over here at once, I think you could be of great service, & you will be handier to your farm, when you are prepared to take possession.

Yours truly

R. Graham

The "R.W." likely refers to the Residency, West or a specific colonial office in Grahamstown (now Makhanda). Grahamstown was the administrative and military heart of the Eastern Cape frontier during the 19th century.

The letter appears to be a formal but friendly summons regarding land possession. In 1865, the Cape Colony was undergoing significant transitions in land tenure and administrative boundaries.
