Johannes Jacobus (Jan) Buskes Jr. ( Utrecht , September 16, 1899 – Amsterdam , March 9, 1980 ) was a Dutch minister , theologian and resistance fighter .
"Man of the resistance" is a term used to describe Jan Buskes. He opposed the synod, National Socialism , apartheid , the government, and the leadership of the Labour Party . He could fiercely attack or defend people. Buskes frequently debated in public, including with socialists. He challenged the theological positions of others in books and magazines, and he vigorously promoted his own.
Oliver Deneys Schreiner MC KC (29 December 1890 – 27 July 1980), was a judge of the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court of South Africa. One of the most renowned South African judges, he was passed over twice for the position of Chief Justice of South Africa for political reasons. He was later described by Ellison Kahn as "the greatest Chief Justice South Africa never had".
