The "Dakamiloshaba Knitting" poster (1980) was created by the Medu Art Ensemble, an influential collective of South African artists and activists living in exile in Botswana, known for silk-screened visuals as a "weapon of struggle".

Unlike the collective's overtly political, anti-apartheid prints, this specific screenprint was commissioned as commercial and promotional art for a local Gaborone textile company.
