Hand coloured (later) woodcut from the famous Typus Cosmographicus Universalis' or Cosmographia. This book detailed the earliest German version of the world
(after the 1s century AD cartographer, Claudius Ptolomy).

These maps were subject to various updates over the editions. It is likely that this map dates to around 1600.
